Kubota Tractor Corporation recently announced their latest recipient of a donated tractor to coincide their “Geared To Give” program. The recipient farmer veteran Chad Tackett, owner of Tackett Family Farms, which is based in Lincolnton, Georgia, was presented with the keys to a new Kubota L-Series Compact Tractor during a special ceremony. It was given to him to recognise his years of service in the U.S. Army and his passion to farming. The donation was made by the corporation in partnership with Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC). It was done in an effort to give financial assistance to U.S military veterans who want to pursue a future in the farming industry.
Tackett, together with his wife, manage approximately 200 acres of land, which include hardwoods, planted pines, and pastures, that they utilise to raise grass-fed Texas Longhorn cattle. He basically grew up raising hogs as well feeding cattle in family farms, and with the new Kubota tractor, he contemplates of developing his farm and at the same time boost his cattle operation and later on sell meat locally. When informed over the phone that he had been chosen as this quarter’s “Geared to Give” recipient, Tackett was in disbelief, “I am so glad to replace my broken-down 1970 tractor and I can’t wait see what my new Kubota can do on my farm and for the local farmer veteran community. I’ve never been so lucky and am incredibly grateful for this recognition,” he said.
According to Kubota Tractor Corporation, their philanthropic mission is to “power and empower those who move the earth” and this paved the way for their “Geared to Give” program in partnership with FVC in early last year. The latter aims to identify the needs of farmers and further the agriculture careers of the individuals who have served the U.S and are presently serving the community by means of farming.
“This program empowers farmer veterans to achieve their dreams and make a true difference through their farming operations,” said Todd Stucke, Kubota senior vice president of sales, marketing and product support. “Kubota is proud to offer a token of our gratitude for those who have done so much for this country through their military service. We are extremely pleased to help Chad continue to make a difference in his community for many years to come.”
