Farmers park nowadays are planning their strategies and set tasks for the coming year; the timing is just perfect because new and more innovative tools are on their way. John Deere, for instance, launched their new line of tech tools and this include two new tillage machines.
Controlling as well as monitoring a myriad of operations while inside the cab is (and has always been) a challenge for farmers and other agriculture-based professionals. In line with this, John Deere is set to release two new solutions, probably in the first quarter of 2017. The first one is the new Gen 4 Extended monitor for clients who want to add an in-cab display for extra control. The solution is targeted for those want to monitor any machine number, implement and precision ag functions, which include product application as well as planting.
With the said feature, operators can move pages and at the same time display functions from one display to another in a hassle-free manner. Therefore, those want to have their planter information on one particular monitor, can do so; plus, they can also put the tractor information on the other. With this particular set up, they can decide which monitor include the information that they need.
In announcing the technological development, John Mishler, the production as well as precision ag marketing manager of John Deere mentioned the following: “We designed the Gen 4 Extended Monitor to be an easy-to-install and readily customisable solution that provides increased flexibility for customers who want a second display as part of their in-cab setup.”
He added that having a second monitor can allow passengers to have access to more information and at the same time control more functions. “The Gen 4 Extended Monitor eliminates the potential for mistmatched totals or data on two different display operating systems. There’s no additional software updates required and minimal setup needed for this solution,” he said.
