Caterpillar’s small M and K series wheel loaders are getting a larger secondary display option that will also allow operators to customize the controls to their preference while also bringing a heap of information that includes: operator profiles, application profiles, service-mode and preventive maintenance alerts, and much more. The 926M, 930M, and 938M will now also offer improvements in productivity, operational convenience, greater uptime reliability due to its excellent technical enhancements.
The performance upgrades will also be seen on Cat’s 924K, 930K, and 938K models.
A new touchscreen display will feature an intuitive keyboard that will make it easier for the operator to navigate through the menu and input text, such as application profiles, service-mode, preventative maintenance alerts, and coded start operator profiles. The secondary display will also have the Cat Payload Management (CPM) system which seeks to reduce an operator’s number of cycles by allowing him/her to confirm when there is sufficient weight in the bucket before leaving a pile.
The Product LinkTM Elite integrating Caterpillar Payload Management helps the operator easily manage the weight of the bucket before moving into the next stack, which greatly contributes to the machine’s overall efficiency. By activating this function, the 24K, 926M, 930K, 930M, 938K or 938M models give its operators the ability to gather the right amount of material in the hopper or truck while reducing the number of cycles to do so. Furthermore, the CPM lets the user select the desired load weight and monitor the cumulative amount of materials in the loader.
The cab on these loaders has also been improved with a new standard binder/clipboard storage area for securely storing papers and manuals, while an extra 1.2 cubic feet of lockable storage can be optionally mounted to the bottom side of the cab for securing tools, grease guns, gloves and other items.
